The German version is legally binding.
This site is hosted by Netlify (Netlify, Inc., 512 2nd Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA). When you open the site, Netlify processes technically necessary server logs – including IP address, time of access, the address requested and the browser identifier. This data is required so that the site can be delivered and stay secure.
In doing so, data may be processed in the USA. This is based on the EU standard contractual clauses that Netlify provides to its customers. The legal basis for operating the site is the legitimate interest in a functioning website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Netlify Identity is used for player accounts. This processes your email address and a display name. The sole purpose is the player account: login, assigning your results to you, and showing you in rankings.
You may optionally sign in with Google. In that case Google transmits your email address and your name to Netlify Identity. A Google account is not required – signing in with email and password is available on equal terms.
The legal basis is the performance of the user relationship (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). Without an account you can use the trainers and a duel shared by link, but no results are saved.
Minimum age: the service is aimed at people aged 16 and over. You confirm your age when you sign up.
When you play, the following are stored: your display name, your rank and badge, your duel results (spot by spot as well) and your season and quiz figures (points, streaks, trophies).
Some of it is publicly visible – even without logging in:
About leagues: no new data about you is collected there. A league shows exactly what is on the leaderboard anyway – display name, points, rank, streak – just filtered to the members of your league. Anyone who is not a member does not see a league's leaderboard. You only get in via an invite link and can leave again at any time.
That is not a side effect but the heart of the platform: being able to compare yourself is the point. If you would rather not, choose a display name that does not identify you – you can change it in your profile.
Your email address is never displayed publicly.
With an account you receive at most two kinds of email:
Nothing else. No newsletter, no advertising, no product news – and no third kind quietly joining them.
Where your address is kept: at Netlify Identity (section 3). Sending runs on a schedule and therefore without you being logged in – at that moment it cannot ask Identity who it is writing to. That is why, when you open your profile, a copy of the address is additionally stored in your player profile. It is never displayed publicly (section 4), is used solely for these two emails, and goes with the account (section 8).
Sending service: the emails go out via Resend (Resend, Inc., USA) acting as a processor. Your email address and the content of the respective email are transmitted. In doing so, data may be processed in the USA; this is based on the EU standard contractual clauses.
No tracking in the emails: no counting pixel, no rewritten links, no open or click rates. Whether and when you open an email is not recorded – there is no measurement of it that anyone could evaluate.
Unsubscribing: every email has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. It works without logging in and switches off both kinds at once. The legal basis for sending is the legitimate interest in a functioning game (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR); you can object to this at any time (Art. 21 GDPR) – that link is exactly that.
The site stores a few values locally in your browser – purely functional ones, for example the answers of a duel currently in progress (so that they survive a login), the matrix display setting, and short-lived display caches.
There are no tracking cookies, no third-party analytics services, no advertising and no sharing with third parties. No content is loaded from external servers either: fonts, icons and code libraries all live on this domain.
We count which pages are opened – per day, with the language and, where available, the domain you came from. All that is stored is a total per day: no IP address, no identifier, no cookie, no recognising you across pages or visits. These numbers show how many people read a page, never who. For the same reason there is no cookie banner for it – nothing is set that would need consent.
If you pick a language, a cookie (pd-sprache) stores only that choice — no identifier, no tracking.
For the same reason there is no cookie banner here – nothing is set that would require consent.
You have the right, at any time, to:
You may also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR) – the competent one is the Berlin Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information.
Just send me an informal email at kdaum.work@gmail.com. Your account will then be deleted along with your game data: profile, display name, rank, season and quiz figures, and your entries in rankings – including the leaderboards of leagues you were a member of. A league you founded yourself is dissolved along with it. The email address stored in your profile (section 5) goes with the profile.
One exception you should know about: duels that have already been played remain for your opponent – otherwise a result they played themselves would vanish from their history. Your name in them is replaced by “Deleted player”, without a rank and without a link to a profile. After that, no connection to you can be established.
