There's no luck in the deal. On any given day the Daily Quiz puts exactly the same decisions to every player, and in a duel both sides get the same hands in the same order.
That makes a result as comparable as a chess puzzle: whoever scores higher decided better – they didn't roll better. At a poker table it takes hundreds of hours before skill separates from variance. Here it takes one round.
You're scored against computed solutions, not against an opinion. A solver is a program that works through a spot and tells you how often you should fold, call or shove in it so that no opponent can find an edge against you.
Every spot on this site comes out of a calculation like that. Your answer is compared against it – and because many situations have more than one defensible answer, a mixed decision counts too if the solver plays it often enough. The maths always happens on the server: the browser only sends your answer.
No stakes, no payouts, no gambling. There's nothing to win and nothing to lose here – the only thing measured is decision quality. The chips in the spots are units of calculation, not currency.
Progress shows up in two places: in duels there are 40 ranks from Blue Fish up to PLUS EV – won duels carry you upwards. In the Daily Quiz a level path leads from the Goldfish Pond to Nuts Peak; that one depends purely on how often you showed up.
Two separate measures on purpose: one measures skill head to head, the other stamina.
Why is this fair?
Because nobody gets different cards than you. Same spot, same scoring, same yardstick – the difference in the result is the difference in the decisions.
Do I have to pay?
No. No subscription, no stakes, no payouts. You only need an account so your result and your rank can be saved.
How good do I have to be for this to pay off?
From zero. The spots are sorted by difficulty, you see the computed solution after every decision – and you learn exactly where you got it wrong. Beginners start at the bottom and work their way up; that's the normal route.
Do I need poker experience to start?
You should know what fold, call and all-in mean. Everything else explains itself as you play: every spot shows stacks, position and situation, and the solution tells you what was right and why.
